2014 February Ice Storm | Charlestown Indiana

We have been in our new first home and survived our first storm within the first month.

We have massive trees surrounding our house and somehow, the large limbs that did fall ALL avoided our house.

Take a look through the beauty, strength, destruction and stillness the Ice Storm of 2014 left

Not only frozen drops of rain, but all of these limbs are encased in ice

All of the tree sheathed in ice – frozen in time

“Ice contains no future , just the past, sealed away.
As if they’re alive, everything in the world is sealed up inside, clear and distinct.
Ice can preserve all kinds of things that way- cleanly, clearly.
That’s the essence of ice, the role it plays.”
Haruki Murakami, Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman Solid ice.
Rough roads(Our deck was not damaged during this storm. We bought it like that)The tree limbs resemble some sort of trees you would see out of a Dr. Seuss book.
So heavy with the weight of the ice
The scent of fresh pine formed mist in my eyes
